(Post by Tristan)

After 1 year of whining, complaining, pleading, and crying, Tristan and Gavin’s wish has finally come true.
At about 9am, the family started the 2 and 1/2 hour journey to East San Diego to see 3 cute Golden Retriever puppies although we could only get 2. After a long ride we finally reached the breeder. The gate was immediately bombarded by about a dozen full grown Retrievers. The breeder put them away after about 2 minutes. The breeder was a nice lady who had been breeding since she was a kid. She took us to see the 3 cute, hyper puppies. As soon as they were let out, they were all run, run, run. All except the female. She just hung out and then licked all of us. The puppies loved us and looked fairly healthy so we adopted 2 of them!!! We adopted the hyperest male and the female. Since the first part of the ride was bumpy the puppies wined loudly. But as soon as we hit smooth pavement they fell asleep.

When we got home, we put the puppies into the back yard, and off they went, run, run, run! After their bladders were empty we put them in their “bedroom,” our bathroom. They played with the toys and licked us to death. My hair is still wet from this. They got fed and then took a nap, then got put back outside. They are currently taking a nap. Here are some cute pictures.

The puppies are named Dori and Mack.  Tristan and Gavin named them.

For their last regular season game, the White Sox took on the Dodgers.  The White Sox played very well, defeating the Dodgers 13 to 3, their biggest victory this season.

Tristan struck out twice and walked once.  He came around to score after he was walked.

He played right field twice, center field, left field, and 2nd base.

He fielded a ball in right field in the 3rd, and left field in the 5th.

Gavin had a lot of fun playing catcher this game, playing that position in the 4, 5, and 6th innings.  He seems to really like playing there.  In the first and second inning he played right field.

He did well again with his batting, getting a single in the 2nd and 3rd innings.  He struck out in the 4th, going 2 for 3 for the day.

Gavin had a very good game.

In the first inning he came up to bat and ripped a line drive into right field for a single.

In the third inning he hit the first pitch to the 2nd baseman for a single.

In the 5th inning, he again hit the first pitch, this time to the short stop for a single.

Overall, Gavin went 3 for 3 today, hitting the ball sharply every time.

Fielding, Gavin played Short stop twice and pitcher, fielding a ball at short stop in the 3rd inning.

Well, the White Sox are able to pull of another victory by the score of 7-4. But, surprisingly, today was an injury fest for the White Sox. Among them were Christan, Mikey, Brandon, three of their best players, and unfourtunely Tristan. He pulled a muscle on his right side while sliding into 3rd. Maybe coach needs to introduce some more stretching.

Batting Tristan went 0-1 with a strikeout in the 2nd and a walk in the 4th. He stole 2nd and 3rd. When stealing 3rd Tristan slid and… you know the rest.  Tristan Got tagged out at the plate trying to score on a bunt down the 1st base line.

Tristan was busy in the field as well. He played Center field twice and 2nd base once. In the 3rd, Tristan fielded a grounder hit to 2nd base. In the 4th, while playing Center Field, Tristan field an overthrow that got past the 2nd baseman and Shortstop. In the 5th, shortly after he was injured, he was put in at 3rd due to the Shortstops injury. He kept a wild throw from going into the Outfield.

Overall, Tristan showed great effort everywhere today despite his injury.

Thank Goodness this is the last North Sunrise game. North Sunrise continues to kill Olive teams.

The final score today was 19-2 North Sunrise A’s. Yes, your seeing right. 19-2 was the final score. This game took so long it only lasted 4 innings.

Tristan was silent with his bat today. He went 0-2 with a ground out to the second baseman in the 2nd,and a strikeout in the 4th.

In the field, Tristan made no errors. He played 2nd base, Right Field, and Center Field. In the 1st, at 2nd Base, Tristan caught an inning ending fly ball. In the 3rd, in Center Field, a few grounders were hit to Tristan, and he fielded them before the base runners could advance.

Overall, Tristan showed good hustle and defensive ability.

Gavin’s team had a good game today.

Gavin went 0-3 with 2 strikeouts and a hard hit grounder back to the pitcher. The pitcher made a nice play and Gavin got out, but he advanced the runners to 2nd and 3rd.

Gavin played Center field, Catcher twice, 1st base, and pitcher. While playing catcher, Gavin fielded a dribbler in front of home plate, but was unable to get the runner out. While playing 1st base, Gavin caught both throws to him, and almost got someone out.

Overall, Gavin showed lots of hustle and great defensive ability

For his birthday, rather than have a party Tristan choose to do the caravan safari at the San Diego Safari Park.  This is a tour you take in the back of a stake bed truck which goes through the middle of the animal pens, allowing you to see the animals at close range.  You also get a chance to feed giraffes and rhinoceros.  Needless to say, with Tristan’s love of animals, this was a big hit with him.

I somehow lost the pictures for this game, which is a shame as Gavin was on fire for this one.

Hitting Gavin went 4 for 4, with 4 singles.  In the 2nd inning, he made it home from third after the batter hit the ball to the third baseman.  The 3rd baseman chased Gavin all the way home, but Gavin managed to beat him there, which was very exciting.  In the 3rd Inning, Gavin ran from 2nd base to 3rd base, beating the third baseman to the bag, also an exciting play.

Fielding, Gavin played Right Field and Short Stop.  While in right he fielded a ball and made a very good throw to 2nd base, which would have resulted in an out but the 2nd baseman dropped the ball.  While playing short stop, he fielded several balls, making good throws to 2nd base and 3rd base.

Overall Gavin had a very good game, showing good batting skills, good fielding skills, and good hustle on every play.

Friday was the Spring Fair at Gavin’s school.  We all went and the boys had a lot of fun.  Gavin and the rest of the 2nd graders got to show off their square dancing skills again for everyone at the festival.  There was a water balloon fight where you launched balloons at each other, a silly string arena, and a bunch of game booths.  Tristan especially enjoyed have people locked up in the jail, when we wasn’t busy covering his brother with silly string anyway.
